Are We There Yet?
I was shopping for Christmas cards (excuse me, "Holiday" cards) today, and nothing was really working for me. I was particularly put off by the "Peace" cards, but I'm not exactly sure why. I think it has something to do with my idea of Peace. It's something you practice like respect for others. To me it's like wishing someone exercise.
What I was really looking for was a card that expressed what I think is the real message of Christmas - Hope.
sigh There were no cards that featured hope as a central theme. Perhaps it was just the store I was shopping at. Sadly, there were quite a few cards that celebrated the holiday season as a great time to drink a lot. True enough for many, but perhaps we shouldn't dwell on that point.
I'm going to keep looking, but I have to admit I'm discouraged.
